Welcome to the Wingham Spinners and Craft group

The group meet at the Wool and Sheep Shed in the grounds of Wingham Showground
each Wednesday from 9am to 1pm.

Each week members bring along whatever craft they wish.  It is based on wool projects but with such a diverse group many craft avenues are open to explore. Available for use are assorted spinning wheels; weaving looms; and cupboards full of craft and pattern books
Workshops are shared which new and experienced members benefit from e.g. spinning; felting; weaving; dyeing; basket weaving; button making to name a few. Our more experienced members are always happy to assist novices with new crafts.

Outreach Activities – We attend various festivals and shows throughout the year to display our wares
and give demonstrations.

Wingham Farmers Market – First Saturday of the month from 8am to noon. The members attending demonstrate spinning and weaving and there are always numerous woollen items for sale.

Nabiac Show – Demonstrations

Wingham Show – Each year we have a decorating theme for the display – in 2014 it is  Teddy Bears Picnic.
For the Scottish Festival in June, we have a small marquee in Central Park plus a spinning expert at
Wingham Museum

On first Saturday of November we are at 'Kilabakh Day in the Country'

Bi-annually we participate in Manning Winter Festival with a shopfront in Taree
2014 it will be around 19/20th June

In the months with five(5) Wednesdays we take ourselves off  to lunch somewhere in the Manning Valley on the fifth Wednesday. A lovely way to enjoy each others company.

We run an annual raffle of crafts and funds raised are donated to local charities e.g. Wingham Street Reach.
